CCSF sponsored one Buckeye Girls’ State delegate and one Buckeye Boys’ State delegate in 2015.

The five CHS delegates shared their experiences with the board at the September Foundation meeting.

Jared Utt called the American Legion Boys’ State at Bowling Green State University a life- changing experience. He was director of public safety and service. He said he learned that everybody has something that’s of value to society.

Blake Spiller, who was defeated in his run for lieutenant governor, became a lawyer. He called it “an amazing experience.” He said that delegates had the opportunity to make this world a better place and that they “fell in love with this country again.”

Ryan Davis said he learned a lot and still communicates with other Boys’ Staters. He was elected county engineer.

Whitney Queen said that her favorite part of the Buckeye Girls’ State experience at Mt. Union College was meeting the girls from all over Ohio. She served as city auditor and as a member of the board of elections. The event was sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary.

CHS senior Amanda Perry was unable to attend the meeting.
